The Wolf Tree & The Winter Moon† by Timothy Price, featuring Resa McConaghy on vocals.
As many of my followers know, I write a song for the Winter Wolf Moon every January. The 2026 Wolf Moon song is very special because it stars Resa’s Wolf Tree, and what’s even more exciting is that Resa sang the song. Her voice is beautiful and perfect for the song.

The Winter Wolf Moon and Jupiter rising over Resa’s Wolf Tree
Wolf Tree and the Winter Moon
By Timothy Price. Vocals by Resa McConaghy
[Intro/Chorus]
Wolf Tree and the Winter Moon
Cold and darkness they consume
Watching over frozen lives
While twilight leans on the gloom
[Verse 1]
Can four divisors tell us what’s to come?
Predictions made on the dividend
Year of our Lord two-thousand twenty-six
We have one-thousand thirteen, one, and two
[Chorus]
Wolf Tree and the Winter Moon
Cold and darkness they consume
Watching over frozen lives
While twilight leans on the gloom
[Verse 2]
The Wolf Moon and the Wolf Tree ask
What are the odds? What is the chance
Of being good, of being bad,
Of simply being ugly
[Bridge]
Wolf Tree and the Winter Moon
Against the odds they roll their dice
Will they fall on double sixes
Or will they fall on snake eyes
Another throw, three out of four
Does winter live or does it die?
[Outro/Chorus]
Wolf Tree and the Winter Moon
Cold and darkness they consume
Watching over frozen lives
While twilight leans on the gloom
Wolf Tree and the Winter Moon
Cold and darkness they consume
Watching over frozen lives

Winter’s Moon Metal: Lirycs by Timothy Price. Music and Vocals by Teagan Ríordáin Geneviene.
This is the Metal version of the song I made with electric guitar, bass, and percussion instead of piano and acoustic guitar. The vocals and melody are the same as the version of Winter’s Moon I posted yesterday with piano and acoustic guitar. The Metal backing track really affects the mood and feeling of the song.

Winter’s Wolf Moon Rising
Winter’s Moon: Lirycs by Timothy Price. Music and Vocals by Teagan Ríordáin Geneviene.
The song for this year’s Winter Wolf Moon is very special because Teagan came up with the melody and music using my lyrics. In the past, I wrote the lyrics and music for the songs that Teagan sang for me. Teagan had to learn the melody before she would record her vocals for me to mix into the song.
I wrote the lyrics for Winter’s Moon in early November 2024 and sent them to Teagan to review. She was inspired and came up with the melody and played the piano as she sang. I added acoustic guitar to the song, and we used NightCafe to produce images based on the lyrics and music.
Then I made two more versions of the song by adding electric guitar, bass, and percussion for a Metal version of the song, and then I made a version with only acoustic and bass guitar. I will post those videos later.
This has been a really great collaboration, and I am so impressed by the melody and music that Teagan produced for the song. I am also grateful that Teagan is willing to work with me on music.
Happy Winter Wolf Moon!

Wolf Moon on the rise again
Lyrics and Music by Timothy Price. Vocals by Teagan Riordain Geneviene.
Another year has passed, and the Wolf Moon is on the rise again as the new year begins. I wrote and recorded Wolf Is In The Winter Moon (above) to celebrate the 2024 Wolf Moon. To spare you my bloody awful voice, Teagan Riordain Geneviene @ Teagan’s Books gracious sang, lending her beautiful, smokey and slightly haunting voice to the song. Thank you so much, Teagan. I really appreciate your hard work on recording the vocals. Teagan’s voice is perfect for the song. She had the idea to add the howls underneath the chorus — a brilliant addition. You can find the lyrics at the end of the post.

We say two pTerodactyls flying over the Rio Grande tonight. This one turned around and flew close. I assume he wanted to be included in the celebration of the Wolf Moon.

Cranes under the light of the Wolf Moon

Wolf Moon over Resa’s Tree
Wolf Is In The Winter Moon
By Timothy Price
[Verse]
World of demons manifold and so robust
They are possessed and driven by an insatiable lust
For blood and power, their egos must be fed
Innocent souls of the quick and of the dead
Wolf’s in the Winter Moon that’s on the rise again
Sheds light on the darkness of a cold and cruel world
[Bridge]
Wolf and Moon together work in perfect harmony
Wolf and Moon together work to set our spirits free
[Chorus]
Wolves howl with praises and glory
Wolves howl with praises and glory
Wolves howl with praises and glory of the Winter Moon
Wolves howl with praises and glory
Wolves howl with praises and glory
Wolves howl with praises to bring an end to winter’s gloom
[Verse]
Wolf is in the Winter Moon that’s on the rise again
Shines its light on darkness as the year begins
[Bridge]
Wolf and Moon together work in perfect harmony
Wolf and Moon together work to set our spirits free
[Chorus]
Wolves howl with praises and glory
Wolves howl with praises and glory
Wolves howl with praises and glory of the Winter Moon
Wolves howl with praises and glory
Wolves howl with praises and glory
Wolves howl with praises to bring an end to winter’s gloom
[Outro]
Wolves howl with praises and glory of the Winter Moon
Wolves howl with praises to bring an end to winter’s gloom
The first full moon of 2023, the Wolf Moon, rose this evening, January 6th, which happens to be Epiphany. I wrote and recorded a song for the occasion and put together the above music video to celebrate the Wolf Moon.
Once Upon A Wolf’s Winter Moon
Lyrics and Music by Timothy Price
[Verse1]
Winter sky sad sulked at dusk’s fall
Darkness fell, embraced cold world
Breezes whispered oh so softly
Warnings of impending doom
[Verse2]
Ambushed by cold winter’s wanting
Wicked wind, frost bit hard
Frozen souls hung in the balance
Gods cast dice; who lives or dies
[Chorus]
Red eyes stared, pierced the darkness
Gravelly growls from all around
A chorus of howls split the heavens
Once upon a wolf’s winter moon
Once upon a wolf’s winter moon
[Verse3]
Wolf Moon rested, washed by dawn
Sunrise melted the seventh seal
Time stood still, stopped, and listened
Sound of silence, dark, unreal
[Verse4]
Overcome eternal darkness
Help us! Save us! Came the cries
Wolves howled, moon tried to warn us
You’re strangled and consumed by lies
[Bridge]
Wolves howled at the full moon
Waking ghosts from gelid sleep
Giving life to frozen souls
Broken-free as winter weeps
[Chorus]
Red eyes stared, pierced the darkness
Gravelly growls from all around
A chorus of howls split the heavens
Once upon a wolf’s winter moon
Once upon a wolf’s winter moon

Lavender Crows taking a break in Lavender Trees
Although it will be Monday before the moon does not pass the meridian, the Wolf Moon starts today. A lavender circle catches the echoes from the collective howls of wolves around the world as they become active searching for food, looking for mates, and preparing to breed under the Hunger Moon in February.
