The Temperature’s Rising

Well, ya’ll, Spunk here. The temperature’s rising, and while the Paparazzo waters, he pesters us with his clicks. He’s such a pest, but at least the flowers are blooming.

Wisteria hanging in the hood

It’s me, Glenda. I’m enjoying the heat, the cat tree, and the blooming blooms! Fortunately, the pesky Paparazzo is smart enough to know he doesn’t need to water the cat tree. However, we need to make him understand he doesn’t need to water cats the same as plants when we are outside.

Bearded Iris

Look deep into my eyes, pesky Paparazzo! You are feeling sleepy, and sleepier. You’re asleep! You will not pour water on me or the other kitties when we are outdoors. We are Cats, not Plants!

Good evening! Gwendolyn here. Let me tell you that the pesky Paparazzo Bugs! He’s way worse than Spot, the orange ladybug, hanging out on the Peony buds.

Okay, you stupid paparazzo. Enough flower photos already. You are wearing everyone out. Especially moi!

Wind Chill 101.3

DSCF0818

The forecast for Corrales was for a high of 94º F on Sunday. Our thermometer showed a wind chill of 101.3º F at 3:00 pm. On Saturday the thermometer was reading 105º F, but since I had it mounted on a post close to the pump house, I suspected it might be picking up reflected heat; so I moved the thermometer to a post in the middle of nowhere on the property, and mounted at 6 feet of the ground, so the 101.3º F should be pretty accurate. The other two photos are cobweb covered stuff in the shed.

Puck On White

We had to wash our down comforter, and we haven’t put the pink cover back on it, so the black cats have been really enjoying laying around on the clean comforter, napping hard to get it dirty again. Before we got the comforter dry, we had wooly, “cat magnet” blankets on the bed which Rosencrantz, Guildenstern and Diné enjoy lounging around on.

Tuesday morning the analog thermometer read -12 degrees F and our pipes were freezing up. Wednesday morning dropped below zero as well, but to look at it optimistically, it was only half as cold at -6 degrees F.  The weather widget is forecasting a low of only 18 for tonight — one can only hope — but it really means our low will be around 8 maybe lower since the temperatur is already down to 10.  The high for tomorrow is supposed to be 46, which may well happen — a heat wave.  I’m still waiting for global warming to kick in on our property, because it just does not seem to be happening for us.
