A load of lumber I bought to build a ramp

I’ve been planning to build a ramp to the front door for quite a while. Since the house is 32 inches off the ground (we are 16 feet below the river), the ramp is 32 feet long, but will be longer when I add the final piece that will bring the slope to the ground. I’m worn out. While I used to be strong, between lots of chemo from years gon by, and age, I’ve become a 198-pound weakling. Lifting the ramp up and securing it to the landing was quite an ordeal.

If The Shoe Fits

Not a cloud in the sky

Jake and I ran into a sassy Roadrunner on our afternoon walk.

He stopped to sun himself for a few minutes.

Ready to pounce

Jake tried on the lost shoe to see if, by chance, he was Dogerella!

The Scoop That Fell To Earth

Silver: “Hey, Paparazzo! What does it take for a kitty to get some shut-eye around here?”

Neither hither nor thither
Over hill nor dale had he come
To be found lying face down
In a state of perpetual dither
Scooped up into the nether
He was lost
But on the fourth day
He fell back to earth
Dropped by the ether
Under the influence
Of a blue moon
So bright
What’s one to do?
Other than continue the saga
Of Scoopy on a frozen beach
Waiting a spring thaw

Red, Greens, Yellow

This display leftover from our creatures of the night’s nocturnal activities is one of their more interesting and puzzling aftermaths. While empty whiskey bottles and single shoes are rather common, a pile of greens added to the mix is a first.
