Father’s Day was low-key. Tristan picked up a Pickle Pizza from Village Pizza. It’s the pizza of the month. It was a “big dill” and very good, also. Laurie made cookies, and we had chocolate “moose.” Tristan gave me a beautiful Bromeliad.
Father’s Day food in the making.
My Father’s Day gift from Tristan. It’s beautiful.

The moon on the left was taken with my iPhone through a telescope* at 11:00 pm last night. The moon on the right was taken with the Bazooka at 6:00 am this morning. Click on the photos to see the details.
An attempt to get Jupiter and its moons through a telescope with the iPhone*. It came out nicely abstract.
On the left are Jupiter and its moons taken at 11:30 pm last night. On the right are Jupiter and its moons taken at 6:00 am this morning. Both photos were taken with the Bazooka.
Jupiter taken with the Bazooka at 11:30 pm last night. You can almost see the patterns in Jupiter’s clouds.
Jupiter and the moon at 6:00 am this morning.
Saturn is at its peak opposition to the sun tonight. However, a storm rolled in, and the sky is overcast, so I am going to have to strike photographing Saturn tonight.
*I held my iPhone lenses to the eyepiece on the telescope. It’s difficult to align the correct lens and get a really good photo with three lenses on the iPhone. The moon came out pretty well. Jupiter was another matter.
Spunk can’t simply drink milk out of a saucer like other cats. He has to make sure whoever might be working on the computer will notice that he’s drinking milk out of a saucer.
Last week’s daily photos found some nice surprises, especially with the kittens trying their paws at film photography. Photo of the Day, Etc for the week of March 23rd — 29th includes:
Rosencrantz stepped on my iPhone that was laying on the counter next to my computer. He activated Siri, which asked him what he wanted. He meowed, and when I looked at the phone Siri had brought up the Wikipedia for cat. I tried to photograph it with Rosencrantz stepping on the phone, but I got too much glare of the phone’s surface, so I had to prop the phone up against my coffee cup. Rosencrantz still wanted to step on it, and stuck around for the photo. Rosencrantz is also a bit of a magical cat as he can apparently go through walls. We’ve let him out and then all of a sudden he’s back in and vice versa. It the second photo I got him half way in and out of the screen.
