Yesterday we had clouds running amok through the skies with our painter scrambling to keep her colors from blowing away with the winds. Today ¡Nada! Not a cloud in the sky. However, our ever clever painter brushed the Sandias with pink, then she threw a spray of ocher that turned into lavender, purples, and blues as it spread from the horizon into the sky.

An Adobe retablo — very New Mexican.
Las Golondrinas is a living museum on a 200 acre site a few miles south of Santa Fe. They are having their annual harvest festival this weekend and all the sites and industries, set mostly around the early to mid 19th Century, are operating. We spent most of the day there yesterday, and I have a lot of photos to process, so for today, I have a few abstractly representative photos.
Another garden on the Corrales Garden Tour had adobe sculpture in various states of dissolution. Adobe sculpture is a little like longer lasting sand paintings, but instead of erasing them at sundown, the adobe sculptures slowly erode back into the earth.
After our trip to Jemez and Gliman Tunnels, I got photos of old adobe houses in Corrales and San Ysidro. The first two are in Corrales and both are doing worse after the major storm that hit Corrales at the end of July. The last photo is of an abandoned adobe house in San Ysidro.
