The death car is a regular in the Dia de los Muertos Parade in November and there it was in Corrales’ 4th of July Parade. It’s quite distinctive and reminds me of the Adams Family. At least the driver is well prepared in case he ends up “coffin ready” on the streets of Albuquerque.

I believe that most of these cars that led the vintage cars in the Corrales 4th of July Parade are from the first half of the 20th Century.
This six inch long centipede which may be everything that nightmares are made of scurried out of the drain when I got in the shower this morning. But I think the art was me, completely naked, doing macro shots of a wet centipede in the bathtub. Since he couldn’t scurry around as much because he was wet, he made defensive gestures by raising his rear prongs into striking position as I got the lens close to him. After I finished photographing him, I scooped him up and put him outside where he can find roly poly bugs and other pests to eat.

Fireworks are outlawed in Corrales, so all we have is 4th of July (the rose), and the lightning storms passing overhead. A tiny spider was watching the lightning show from an Easter lily.
