We went to Sankt Wendel for the Bad Easter Bunny Easter Fesival this morning. The streets were full of people acting like bumper cars in a demolition derby. I’ve been in much denser crowds in Mardrid, Paris and Rome, and people did not bump into each other like they were at the Böser Osterhase Osterfest today. You would think Früling would bring out the best in people.

I saw Squirrel Nutkin on our walk this morning.

Carion! My wayward Crow. Where hast you been, and where dost you go?

Red kite

The sign claims the St. Wendeler Easter Festival is the most beautiful spring festival. It brings out a bumber crop of people.

A Red Kite was looking to make a meal of the Böser Osterhase.

Carion the wayward Crow fallowed us to Sankt Wendel.

Carion Crow clocking in.

Plank roasted salmon seems to be a staple at festivals

The Basilica of St. Wendelin

I missed the mice in at the alter of the church, but, fortunately, Tristan got them.
She also noticed a fishy doorknob.

Stations of the Cross

The City Council building seems appropriately named.

It’s safe to look now, Atlas!

Fun finds in the church and festival.
Thanks, Brad.
Squirrel Nutkin is very cute! I’m with Atlas when it comes to festivals.
They are fun to go to, especially in another country. Thanks, Liz.
You’re welcome, Tim.
Wow what fun times. Love your pics an the colors at the cross, Red kite is cool and all of the critters, Tim. ❣️
The Red Kite is gorgeous, as is Atlas. It’s so weird about people bumping into each other. That is such a rare thing, no matter where I’ve been.
It was annoying. I think the kites and buzzards might have little ones to feed. I’ve seen them soaring around a lot. Thanks, Gigi.
I can imagine how annoying that would be. Great photos and I’m sure you’re right about the birds having little ones. 🙂
“If you really must know, I’m
flying off to a Kansas conert.”

I don’t think Dorothy Crow is in Kansas anymore. If Carion picked up the jetstream, he might have made it to Ft Lauderdale, Fl where Kansas was playing yesterday.
But then again, Carion Crow might have been headed south, going down under for Counting Crows playing at the Kiri Te Kanawa Theatre, Auckland, NZ, tomorrow.
It’s hard to say when it comes to the way of the Carion Crow. Thanks, David.
Last I heard Dorothy hitchhiked her way
across the USA after taking a ride on the
mild side. But I guess that’s nothing to
crow about 🐦⬛😎
Another good time by the looks.
Fun in the German sun. Thanks, Shey.
The basilica is very striking. I’m glad you got the ‘two bad mice’ to go with Squirrel Nutkin.
I missed the two bad mice. Luckily Tristan got them. Thanks, Robbie.
🐁🐭
Festivals are great to go to in other countries but our favourites are supermarkets!
Supermarkets are convenient. And our local Walmarts back home are cultural experiences. Thanks, couriers.
What a beautiful selection of photos from you and Tristan, Tim!
That is one long-eared reddish squirrel. Do you know what species Squirrel Nutkin is?
I don’t know what type of squirrel it is. There were similar squirrels in Madrid when we lived there many years ago. Thanks, Lavinia.
That red kite is a beauty .. and the interior of the Basilica is so ornate! More super holiday pics
Thanks, Julie.
