Teagan’s Storm

Lately, when I write a song, I make a version of the music for me and a version for Teagan. Teagan’s version of The Storm is difficult because it has a wide vocal range and requires a powerful voice. Teagan nailed the range with her powerful vocals.

The Storm
by Timothy Price

[Verse 1]
Riding on the edge of night
Rainbow storms play on left
Sun shines on the right

[Chorus]
Light bounces off gray clouds
Shadows cling to the ground
Dead trees stare at useless rain
Much too late to ease the pain

[Verse 2]
Standing against the wind
Vultures circle overhead
Wishing my demise

[Bridge]
Angels ride
On lightning bolts
The gods argue
Their thunder rolls
Primary colors
Come undone
Trying to calm
The violence
Of the sun

[Outro]
Light bounces off gray clouds
Shadows cling to the ground
Dead trees stare at useless rain
Much too late to ease the pain

    The video was great!
You two should do an album together! ☺️

    • You are so kind, Becky — thank you. LOL… with the right key I’m loud whether or not I want to be, and this song was in that key. I was afraid I had blown up my microphone the first time I recorded it. ^^’ It’s such a great song. Thanks for listening and commenting. Big hugs.

    • Thanks, Becky. Teagan did a wonderful job with the song and the video. We have enough material for an album.

  2. You are so kind Tim — thank you. I really love this gorgeous song, and it was a pleasure to get to sing it. Thanks for putting up with my limitations. You did terrific work on the production. Hugs.

  3. This is a very emotional sounding song. Beautiful. Your creative collaboration with Teagan is always a success.

  4. WOW. This is amazing. What a power of work– every aspect of it. From the words, to the video, to Teagan’s voice. The tune… Everything Timothy. The true power of blogging that you can both create something like this and bring it to your followers.

  5. This is a great song, Tim and Teagan is the perfect person to sing it. Everything about this song combined in a complementary way. Thanks for sending my morning off in the right direction.

    • Thanks for the great comment, Dan. We are happy to get you off in the right direction this morning.

  6. Wow from me too! And I also agree with the comment about an album. This is a collaboration that keeps giving and getting better and better. Thanks, Tim and Teagan for sharing your inspiring music and vocals with us. ♥

  7. This is a spectacular collaboration, Tim and Teagan. There is an awesomeness to the lyrics and music. Teagan – you have an amazing voice. I agree with Tim that you have the voice for this message!

  8. Teagan’s voice and visuals were so compelling that I took a look back at Timothy’s original version. Equally compelling, especially shrieking out the high notes. Well done both of you.

    • Thanks, Cheyenne. It’s great that Teagan doesn’t have to shriek to hit the high notes.

    • Thank you kindly, Cheyenne. I tried to tell a story with the images. It was a lot of work to get them to come in at the right moment with the music. I’m happy you liked it. Yes, the version where Tim sang is absolutely cool. Hugs

  9. That is a hauntingly beautiful melody, Tim. Beautiful video, Tim, as are Teagan’s rich, dynamic vocals. The two of you are very talented, and great collaborators. I look forward to hearing more!

We finally got some soaking rain up here this afternoon.

  10. Wow, Teagan, this is your best performance yet.

It seems the more you sing the better you get.

It’s a fab song, Tim. The lyrics are a storm. You are definitely writing to Teagan’s strong points.

The video is terrific. Well done you 2!

    T’n’T

    • T’n’T is dyn-o-mite! It really is one of Teagan’s best performances. We found the right key, and she nailed it. Thanks, Resa.

    • You are so kind, Resa — thank you. Tim’s song really is brilliant. It put bits of a fantasy story in my head — one that I’m not able to write or fully see, but I could feel characters. That’s why I made the video… to sort of tell the story. So I’m happy you like it.
I sing karaoke most evenings. It’s good vocal and breathing exercise, but a good stress/anxiety relief too. Hugs on the wing. 🕊

      • Karaoke — what a fab idea.
I sing made up cat songs in a high pitch to Misha. Norm is a professional musician. He endures my cat songs, because he sees how much Misha loves them. He’s so in love with her. 🕊 Hugs 🕊

        • They know when they’re getting the added attention of a song for sure. I used to do that for Crystal but in a normal voice — all sorts of songs changing the words for her. Mr Sandman was a favorite (Sandman give us a dream/Crystal, give me a purr…) And Fever (It gives me fever/She’s got the me-ow). Daphne and Velma head for the hills when they see the karaoke screen coming on though. So I haven’t tried singing to them. I’m so glad everything has settled with Misha. ❤ ❤ ❤
