As long as the comic is out of the standing with the wokees, and not too volgur, I love stand-up comedy. There are still a few good ones who have survived cancel culture.
Oh yeah, abso. But our wee city, you go the banter is such that everyone is a stand up comic and it nakes for a great time. I mean Sat there we were up in Dundee..we stay a few miles from the centre in what was once an old fishing village, anway, we had gone to this free afernoon concert and nipped into a pub for one drink. And ther’s table of women from Perth who were going to see some Celine Dion tribute act. and this big woman at another table had overheard this and shouted as they stuff about enjoy it. So hey asked if she was going . And she said. ‘ Eh EH’m Ceeleen..’ (Yes. I am Celine’ in other words, for a laugh. She was that micked. It was aobvious, nobody looked less like a Dion tribute act in their life.) So when we left in passing I stopped and sung a line of My heart will go on,’ Well…. next thing she’s on her feet singing, the rest, so’s her mates, so’s half the pub, then she tried to get up on a table to better deliver this … at which point we left in advance of being flung out. And that kind of banter is the way it is here. When we run the Mr’s play I’ve gotten entirely accustomed to wandering off script to get into a lot of stand up banter with the audience, that can go on and on. The cast know they will always get the cue.
A lot of favourite comedians for me, gal. Chic Murray, Norman Wisdom, Dad’s Army, Vicar of Dibley, Spike Milligan… so many others. I do love a good laugh… Hahaha! 😂
Mr Mainwaring….Mr. Mainwaring….. I mind seeing a documentary about it all and how it was unbelievable that it came along in the 60s..the kind of time it was then…and took the nation by storm. Most of the guys in it were sort of washed up actors at that point, expecting nothing.
A lovely Valentine Day post, Tim. LOVE it!!! This morning in the coffee lineup I saw a young man holding flowers. I had to him that it was a very nice gesture. He smiled and said it was the last minute gift, but I could tell it was planned. Amore a prima vista!!!
Belated wishes for a lovely Valentine’s Day to you both. (Sorry to be so late. That holiday isn’t exactly on my radar. I even forgot to do something for the Scoobie’s “Gotcha Day” which I decided would be celebrated on the 14th (it’s really the 12th).) The lighting on the bouquet is beautiful. Cheers.
That is a really nice bouquet of flowers – wish I could have found that instead of the dozen white roses I got Linda – either they were nipped bringing them home in the subzero temps or they were nipped getting to the store, but ALL the pedals fell off when I put them in the vase to present to her … Happy Valentine’s Day Sweetie, here’s some stalks to show you how much I appreciate you.
When you buy cut flowers and roses, make sure to put the stems in a plastic bag to hold in the moisture on the way home, and then cut the stems under water before you put them in the vase. But those roses were messed up from something before you got them if all the petals fell off. Thanks, Brian.
Wonderful.
Thanks, Gigi.
Your nails look great. Lol. I actually don’t like pointy nails, but the designs are awesome!!!
Thanks, Leenda!
Jake looks very happy to be the backdrop to those wonderful nails.
He was getting attention. That’s all that matters to Jake. Thanks, couriers.
Lovely in fact STUNNINGLY GORGEOUS array of colors TImothy.
Thanks, Shey.
Heere, here! Well said!
Timothy has his moments on the comments too, Inchy….. Glad you agree.
I have moments of moments, and they seem to get less momentous as time goes on. I momentarily fall out of the moment, and the moments are gone.
Entertainers United, we could form a trio? Haha!
Abso. I do like a bit of stand up comedy.

There’s nowt like a good laugh Inchy. Dad’s Army was pure class.
Some great catch phrases emanated from Dad’s army. I’ll start us of with ‘Stupid Boy!’ (Pike)

That relates how it was, lass.
‘They don’t like it up ’em!’ X
Oh Jones’ fav line that one.

PS… in WordPress Reader, your post shows up totally Blank.
Well it’s fixed! I see all the pretty pretties now. It may have been my iPad being slow.😳
It’s hard to tell with technology these days. I’m happy they finally came through.
I’m not surprised. WP is always up to something. Thanks, Nancy.

Laurie Never disappoints with those nails. Love the flowers. Love the color as red can be overrated! 💐
The nails belong to one of our staff members. She does a great job. Thanks, Cindy.
Oh got it!! Fun!! 🤩
Wishing you and Laurie a Happy Valentines Day, Tim! The flowers are a beautiful sight at this time of of year.
Jake is a very intelligent dog. The two of you must be close buddies by now. Where did Tristan get him originally?
Five years ago. He was a dumped puppy. Thanks, Lavinia.
I am glad Tristan found him. He landed with the right person. I guess you are guardian now. He is with good people.
Wonderful flowers and nails!
Thanks, Brad.

My hands are swollen and gnarly, but yes, our staff member’s hands are lovely. She’s a master at nails. Thanks, Hazel.
Yeah, it is obvious in her works. You’re most welcome, Timothy. Happy weekend!
