Tristan left us a pair of bookshelves and a lot of books, so we put them in a library. I ordered a fireplace since the room is not heated and put it together this afternoon. We are still sorting out Tristan’s books and our books for the library. Since the top shelves on each side are a little over 8 feet high, we will eventually get a library ladder to access the top shelves. Our new library is cosy.

That’s pretty impressive.
The fireplace is a nice addition, too.
Thanks, Susan. Getting the selves in the room and sorting books was a major accomplishment.
Miss Scarlett murdered him in the Library with a Candlestick.
That is true. Thanks, Shunter.
It looks lovely, Timothy.
Thanks, Robbie.
WOW. Beautiful, truly.
Thanks, Shey.
We find it dangerous sorting books – too many distractions! Almost as bad as photos. Looking good – especially the roaring fire…
I know what you mean. Thanks, Couriers.
Looks great! You will enjoy sitting in there with the fire going and reading a good book. Cozy indeed!
Thanks, Nancy.
Ah, that’s a really cozy and beautiful space you made!
ps your books look so neat and tidy! If only Socratis placed them aesthetically and not alphabetically! 🤣
We had a library at the office before the Internet. One staff member had classified the books by the Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) and had a card catalogue to look up the books. One of the secretaries decided the library needed a makeover and rearranged the books by size and color. Needless to say, the staff member who had the books in order by the DDC was not happy. The library never got put back right. Then the Internet made the office library obsolete. Thanks, Marina.
Oh, no! I can imagine the frustration after all that work! [I had to look up DDC]. Only 1/10 of the books has been put in order and I suspect it’ll take about 10 years for the rest of them to be organized alphabetically 🤣.
…by the way, what is it with WP lately? The reader is all ……. and so slow!
WP is always up to something annoying.
it’s become a habit.
I prefer Chick Habit to WP Habit: https://youtu.be/9IRFFLDU7Mc
A perfect little reading nook, very cosy and inviting!
Thanks, Liz.
You’re welcome, Tim.
It looks very cozy with the fireplace, books, and shelves.
Thanks, Brad.
Super cozy, all you need are a few cats to help you read some books!
Oooh! I love your library!!
Thanks, Dale. It’s turning out really nice.
Wonderful!
I LOVE your library, Tim. Cozy and full of amazing books that offer armchair adventures. I am so excited for Tristan and her new non-armchair adventure.
Tristan is enjoying Germany. She went to a 50th Anniversary performance of the Rocky Horror Show last Saturday. Thanks, Rebecca.
I am so excited for Tristan!!!
What a comfy and cozy reading place! 🔥 Perfect time of year, too. Enjoy.
Thanks, Michele.
Oooh it’s so cozy, Tim. I have one of these fireplaces in my massage room and my studio where I see clients and it makes all the difference in the world. I love the crispness of the white. 💓
Thanks, Cindy. It’s great for heating up the room and looks great too.
What an amazing library!! Looks so comfortable – perfect spot for reading! 📖☕️💕
It’s going to be really nice when we finish sorting out and shelving all the books. Thanks, Samantha.
That iis AMAZING!!! We can’t wait to check it out!
We can’t wait for you to see it. Thanks, Craig.
that’s wonderful, Tim; I value my little library —
Thanks, John.
That looks like a cozy little library, Tim.
It is. Thanks, Lavinia.
Have fun.
Thanks, Gigi.
Fantastic, Tim!
Wow, I love this library.
Have the cats discovered it, yet?
Spunk loves trying to ciimb to the high selves. Thanks, Resa.
Lol….trying?
The vertical climb to the upper shelves is proving to be a challenge. Spunk’s not as nimble as he once was.
Ahh! That happens. I’m not as nimble as I used to be.
Me neither.
I’m getting a cat on Saturday!
Haaleluja! Haaleluja! Haaleluja! Haleluja!
LOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!
She’s 5 1/2, healthy and her owner is going to a home. Through friends and coming on Saturday. Tomorrow I go buy supplies!!!! MISHA!
Such great news.
Yes, she has 2 brothers, but no one would take all 3 cats. I can’t handle 3 right now. I just wanted 1 tiny female.
It was either split them up, as many wanted 1 cat, or a shelter. The father is going into a home tomorrow.
What?!? People still actually read paper books? 😎
And buy vinyl records and cassette tapes, too. Thanks, PA.
Looks very cozy!
Thanks, Dawn.
Nice! The read-in begins.
Thanks, Geoff.
We finally out collected our bookshelf capacity and had to go through and either get rid or put some of them in storage starting with all those academic reference books for work that are not needed anymore. Those shelves look nice, guessing they will fill up as fast as ours.
We are trying to shelve what is interesting. We gave away hundreds of books some years ago to make space for a pantry. Thanks, Brian.
Smart move
