I love the little towhees. We have them here, too. The kitties like to watch them from the indoor cat tree. Lately we have had the band-tailed pigeons. They spook readily and make a big noise flapping like crazy taking off. The kitties love that.
How is your weather down there? Any sign of rain? Pretty dry up here and the grass is browning out early.
We’ve been spit on a few times in the afternoons for a total of 1/100 of an inch of rain so far this month. Mostly moderately warm afternoons into the mid 80s. Cool mornings. It was 42 this morning. Thanks, Lavinia.
Cute Spotted ya’ got there (we have their cousins the Eastern out here). They have such cool blood red eyes – they kinda clash with the pillows though.
Bonnie as well as sassy.
True. Thanks, Shey.
Lovely pics, Tim.
Thanks, Jeff.
Thanks for sharing this image
You are welcome, Anita.
She has some sassy plummage, too!
True. Thanks, Liz.
You’re welcome, Tim.
What a beautiful bird! Nicely captured and love the ToweeKu!
Laurie said “Not another Timku!” I said “No it’s a Toweeku!” I’m happy you got the gist of the ku. Thanks, Dale.
Of course I do 😉 Love your ‘kus!
I just commented to Marina that if you say Towheeku out loud anyone nearby will probably say, “Bless you!”
Hahaha! No kidding!
Another bird I have never seen. Thanks, Tim!
They are fun and quite chatty besides being sassy. Thanks, Nancy.
What a cutie! I’ve never seen nor heard of one before. Thx for sharing!
You are welcome, Leenda.

Thanks, Christine.
Beautiful Timku for the lovely little fella!
Thanks, Marina. A Towheeku. All though, if you say it out loud you are might get a “Bless you!” if anyone is near.
Ah, I’ve been getting lots of those after taking the carpets out for the season! 🤣
I can imagine.
A teenager huh? Probably getting into trouble with the sassy attitude.
He’s been getting in plenty of trouble and has to tell us all about his exploits. A very chatty bird. Thanks, Brad.
Teen zeal at work. Those pictures are beautiful.
Thanks, Eunice.
Wow… Love him/her…. My first seeing this species Tim… 🙂
Thanks, Sue. I’ve done lots of posts with Towhees. Put Towhee in the search on my blog and you can see them up close and personal.

Just a titch over 50 degrees here and upper 70s this evening.
These are such cool looking birds, so much color, nice photos 🙂
Thanks, Sandra.
[…] Teenage Towhee […]
What a lovely bird. It seems to go well with furniture as well as nature!
Thanks Tim!
It thinks it goes well with everything. Thanks, Resa.

Are Easterner’s as sassy as the spotties? Thanks, Brian.
Yes, and they talk(chirp) will fast like the rest of us Midwesterners which makes it even more annoying ha.
Lovely little birds!
Beautiful photoshoot quite artistic 💐🙏
Thanks, Debasis.
