I love the climbing rose. It always strikes me as funny that Dr Huey is often used as a rootstock to graft on other rose cultivars when it makes such a magnificent shrub itself.
Hi Susan. Dr. Huey is the main rootstock in the southwest with our heavily alkaline soils. And yes he does make an excellent and hearty shrub rose. He’s a great climber, also.
