  1. I love the climbing rose. It always strikes me as funny that Dr Huey is often used as a rootstock to graft on other rose cultivars when it makes such a magnificent shrub itself.

    • Hi Susan. Dr. Huey is the main rootstock in the southwest with our heavily alkaline soils. And yes he does make an excellent and hearty shrub rose. He’s a great climber, also.
