I love to see the hummers. It has been pretty quiet at my house until this past week, and all of a sudden, *everyone* seems to be here.
Great pics, esp. the first one!
Great photos! They like to hover here in front of the windows and peep in at the cats. The cats start up the mouth chattering routine, but the birds know they are safe.
We have been breaking Spunk on the mouth chattering at our parrots. He’s only watching them intently now. The other cats totally ignore the birds, but new cats have to be trained. Kittens don’t quite understand how vicious parrots can be. Well! And hummingbirds for that matter.
A friend of mine back east had a parrot and a parakeet. The parrot got very jealous of the parakeet and attempted to break the parakeet’s legs when the smaller bird got near his cage. She had to be very careful of keeping them apart after that.
These are great Timothy! BTW watched “The Painting”. Excellent! Thanks so much for making me aware of this sweet little movie! I especially loved the ending. 🙂
Great photos, these birds are really tough to capture!

Thanks, Susan. We seem to have one variety down here and they stay around all summer.
They are always watching you!
That’s true. They like to come up within a few feet of you and “check you out” normally too close for a longer lens to focus.
Great image!
Thanks!
Thank you for sharing!

Sounds like the parrot had some mob influence.
Such cuties…they are my favorite bird visitors to my garden. Great shots!
Thanks, Priya!
I LOVE this one, of course:) janet.
Thanks, Janet!
Nice shots!
Thanks!
Even the eye looks like a jewel!
Thanks debra! I think its eye might be reflecting my lens. Not sure though.
Awesome shot, just the right amount of wing movement without stopping them dead with a to faster shutter speed. Nice job
Thanks!
Wonderful captures 🙂
Thanks, Inga!
