Mother’s Rose Morning

I went out before sunrise to see if the test balloon from the balloon fiesta might fly over, which would mean the mass ascension would follow. No balloons flew over today, but I discovered Mother’s Rose glowing in the pre-dawn light. Then I came out of retirement from baking and, with René’s help, made Laurie a chocolate mocha cake for her birthday.

  1. I just had a nice slice of this cake and was really impressed–it was very chocolaty ( is that a word) and very moist–really delicious. Laurie sent some home with us so we can enjoy more later. What a great cake! Not many husbands bake a cake for their wife’s birthday–very special. But we all know what a talented guy Tim is. Thank you Tim.

  2. Happy Birthday to Laurie! The chocolate cake looks delicious, and the rose is beautiful. Both are great to celebrate a birthday.
