Cranes In The Rain

Venus @ Dawn

Walked out in the rain to see the cranes
In the Tangle Heart Tree sat the pTer
Near the pTer, Daddy Owl had a few words to share
Top of the day to ya! Wile E Coyote seemed to say while sitting on the levee
Eyes turned to the cry of a crane catching up with its cronies
Rio Grande reflected clouds and cranes in the rain

Hooteluja!

Dawn

Sunset on Sandias

While taking the above photo of the Sandias in red, I heard a buzzing noise. I turned to see what it was and three paragliders were flying my way.

Moon and contrail at dusk

While I was photographing the moon and contrail, I heard an owl hooting close by. I investigated further and there was an owl perched on the edge of the nest I hung in Susan’s tree in August 2022. Hooteluja! Hooteluja! Hooooteluuuja!

It was dark, and I had to use 15x digital zoom on my phone’s camera, so I couldn’t tell if it was daddy owl. It could be one for the owlets from a few years ago out house shopping. Whichever owl it is, it’s a good sign to see an owl perched on the edge of the nest.

Easter Sunday Surprise

Happy Easter! Glenda showed her respect by lying down with the bunny and the lamb.

Osric is a wily old owl. He misled me on where I suspected Nora Owl and the owlets might be. Last night I walked down to see Osric after sundown.

After a good been of negotiation between us, Osric flew over to a tree on the other side of the tree where I thought Nora and the Owlets might be.

Nora came out of a tree closer to the ditch bank, and an owlet popped its little head up. I was so close to them, I couldn’t get Nora into the frame using the Bazooka.

Nora took off before I could change cameras, and the owlet looked up as Mama silently flew away.

Two little owlets stared at me from the nest. Happy Easter Owls!

Stormclouds forming

The moon was 99.4% full last night and it did not pass the meridian. The moon is 99.6% full tonight but with the cloud cover, I could not see the moon rise tonight.
