I answered a phone call a few weeks ago:
Me: “¡Dígame!”
Caller: “This is the Corrales Fire Chief. This is not an Emergency! Do you have a few minutes to talk?”
Me: “Yes!”
CFC: “Someone named Jake requested we install a fire hydrant on your road. Do you know who Jake is?”
Me: “Jake’s my dog!”
CFC: “Oh! Ok! That makes sense. I guess.”
Me: “Jake loves the fire hydrant on the west side of the drainage ditch.”
CFC: “[A slight chuckle] Your neighbors on Dixon Road gave us right-of-way across the eastern edge of their property for us to install a fire hydrant on the north side of your road. The hydrant will be half way between your house and the house at the top of the road. Can we have permission to face it toward your road and have access to it from your road?”
Me: “Of course. Jake will be a happy dog to have a fire hydrant much closer to our house!”
CFC: “I suppose he will. Thank you! Bye!”
Me: “¡Adiós!”

Jake’s new fire hydrant waiting for it’s first peemail message.
Good boy!
Jake is such a good dog. Thanks, Leenda.

Brill way to get things done.

Very funny! Jake does seem to have access to the best people!
He’s a popular pup. Thanks, Couriers.
Now THAT is service!!
Amazing really. Thanks, Dale.
Thank you very much, Timothy, for this excellent idea!
Thanks, Martina.
HIlarious!! You go, Jake!
He goes a lot. Thanks, Liz.
You’re welcome, Tim.
I thought dogs + fire hydrants was just something from Looney Tunes cartoons.
Looney Tunes cartoons make fun of reality. Thanks, DR.
Jake must be very pleased now to have his own special messaging fire hydrant. 🙂
He is happy. Thanks, Lavinia.
Lucky doggy.
He is. Thanks, Geoff.
That Jake is a clever dog.
…and may it be used only for peemail messages!
Jake you’re a genius!
Thanks, Marina.
What great fun.
Thanks, Gigi.
That opening had the perfect mix of suspense and curiosity—I instantly wanted to know what came next!
Thanks, PCCC.
Jake must be a very happy dog!🐶
Hahaha! That was fabulous. I got a kick out of the ending about the “peemail message.” Also Duolingo has not taught me “¡Dígame!” yet, so I had fun learning that word thanks to Google. Congratulations, Jake. Hugs.
I have never seen dígame used by Duolingo. A lot of Spaniards answered the phone with dígame. Thanks, Teagan.
Haha…. Love it…. Has it been christened yet?
No it hasn’t. They are still working on it. Thanks, Sue.
😊
How efficient. Way to go Jakester!
Thanks, Nancy.
Lololol! Take Jake there at golden hour, complete the picture!
So, are tumble weeds out?
The tumbleweeds are coming up and Jake is happily leaving tumblepeemail on them. Thanks, Resa.
Oh goody! I wonder if one will tumble to up here. I mean the get around.
You just never know.
Oh this is very funny 😂🤣
Thanks, Robbie. I’m happy you enjoyed it.
DO NOT TELL my boys that Jake was able to pull that off – I already fear they are going to hack into my computer and buy up the Chewy store. If they know they can get hydrants installed out here in the country they’ll be all over that.
Your boys would probably want one each. Thanks, Brian.
LOL
Thanks, Dawn. Someone sent it to the fire marshal. He said he could stop laughing.
