Hi Tim, beautiful photos. I’m amazing how much detail you’re able to get of the wings. You can really see the structure and how fragile they are. Please enjoy your Monday ~ Mia
Tim, paleeze send me the photo of the queen! I’ve never seen a monarch queen before, how exiting! I don’t care if it’s not a genuine monarch butterfly, I’m not a fan of royals, anyway!
Hi Genie. The Queen Butterfly is not a Monarch at all, but people mistake them for Monarchs; however, you can see how different the really are in the two photos.

Thanks, Mia. I thought it was interesting to find the two close together making a nice comparison. People often confuse the Queens with Monarchs.
You’re welcome, Tim. When I’m in the garden I will have to look more carefully now.
You may find Viceroy butterflies as well. They look very much like Monarchs.
Tim, I just looked up a Viceroy. They look amazingly similar to the Monarch. That’s going to be a tough one.

Both are magnificent little creatures.
They are similar yet so very different and beautiful.
Thanks, Teri!
