Hi Nana. “Hot tamale” can be used as an expletive, joyous or otherwise. It is a hot cinnamon candy, as in the case of the Hot Tamales spilled on the sidewalk. And we eat real hot tamales, red chile and meat rolled in maza (cornflour dough), wrapped in cornhusks and steamed. I had a tamale for lunch yesterday.
Excerpt form my diary :
“Weather is fine.
This morning, learnt what “hot tamales” were and a nice expression (…)”

Red cinnamon in this case. Thanks, Teri!
Like cinnamon candies.
They made a cool picture 🙂
Or a hot picture, depending on how you look at it. Thanks, Inese!
