    I don’t know if a black plate means something different there. Here in Brazil, only cars that are 30 years old and remain with original items can request a black plate. It means something to collectors (is there a better word for this?) and people who loves cars…

    • Hi Lari. That plate was probably the style of “historic vehicle” plate when it was registered. Currently, NM offers a “Horseless Carriage” plate for vehicles 35 years or older, in original condition, and only used for exhibition and educational purposes. The HC plate is yellow like the standard NM plate.
