Laurie is happy. Yes they are roasting every day, but this was the first day I was there that they had sacks of green chile (they only had bushels last weekend) and they only had a couple of sacks today. I’m going to see if they have more tomorrow.
That’s the first of 7 sacks of green chile we’ll put up to last us through the year until next next August. We just used up the last few freezer bags of green chile from last year last week.
Nice photos of Laurie at work on the peppers! Roasted chilies sound good. We’ve never tried that. Rick has a few rows of various hot peppers here, which he dries for winter use.
Green chiles like that have various temperatures from mild to killer hot, only grow in the Rio Grande valley in NM. Plant them anywhere else and they are mild like bell peppers.
Thanks, Leya! If you ever visit NM, USA you can try both red and green chile. Green Chile has a unique heat to it and when you get a really hot one it burns for a long time.
Oh, yummmm…
Is Wagner’s roasting every day now?
Laurie looks so happy to have some fresh green chile!!!

You do the roasting? If so you got a heck of a setup there! Great stuff!
Wagner’s does the roasting, we just peal them, bag them and put them in the freezer.
Well it looks like you got a good haul. 🙂

I bet those will light your fire aye? 🙂
Well that depends. These are “mild” by they have a little fire in them, just enough to have a slightly hot flavor without frying your tastebuds.
Perfect!!

Great shot and she looks happy to be doing what she is doing.
Thanks!
Wonderful and what a process:)
Thanks, Janet. It’s a lot of work for a couple of weekends, but then we have green chile for the rest of the year.
I love it that Laurie wore a beautiful outfit while preparing chile—it’s like a celebration! All you need is music in the background.
That’s here lounging outfit!
Sounds tasty, but i’ve never tried this! Nice shots.
