Jake’s Big Adventure

While my car was in the shop for maintenance, Jake and I took a 3.8-mile (6.1 Km) walk down, up, and all around the Albuquerque flood diversion channel. I was surprised how much Jake liked running down and up the steep sides of the flood control channels. Whenever we came up to the top of a channel, Jake would hop onto the road and give whatever was in front of us a look of intense interest. It was like a game for Jake.

The route

Jake peed on a high-voltage transmission line pole. He thought it was electrifying.

Serious security: An electric fence behind the cyclone fence and barbed wire.

Needless to say, Jake was worn out after his big adventure.

Marina’s Incognito Tree is back to being hard to see.

Gigi’s Tree with Laurie, moon and contrail

Glenda is on the right half under Sasha on the left. Then Gwendolyn, Spunk and Silver. Spunk’s tail is on my toes. Loki is on Laurie. Marble might have been under the covers with Laurie, but I can’t say for sure.

24ºF outside + 54ºF inside + 5:00 in the morning = 5 Cats on me and a tail on my toes. Hmmm! Tail on Toes would make a great name for a post-rock band. Tones on Tail was a great post-punk band.

Jake Gate

My Saturday morning project was to install a post and fencing for a Jake Gate to keep Jake from wandering down the road when we want to leave him outside roaming around the property.

Dawn

I went out for a walk in the bosque this afternoon. I headed north since I hadn’t walked north in the Bosque in almost a year.

Can you find Nora Owl?

Nora Owl is sitting on her eggs a quarter mile north of us.
