J Volcano
In 1947, students from St. Joseph’s College ignited a pile of tires in the J Volcano, causing panic in Albuquerque as some people thought it was going to erupt. Later attempts at the same prank failed to cause even a stir. Nowadays, the pranksters would be charged with multiple felonies, smacked with harsh penalties and prison time.

You know I was a nitty-gritty baby
When my mama would toss me in the cradle
In those old Lava fields back home
It was down around Albuquerque
I was nursing on Wild Turkey
In those old lava fields back home

House Finches

Turn up the volume so you can listen to Freyja’s splashes
We took a long walk in the bosque this morning, and Freyja got to splash around in the Rio Grande, as you can see in the above video.
Glenda: “Whatcha makin’, Paparazzo?”

What might this pile of wood turn into?

Hmmm! It looks like a waterwheel. But what would we or the cats need a waterwheel for?

Oh! It looks like Marble is hiding something.

Marble: “It’s a Kittywheel! You stupid Paparazzo. You didn’t even know what you put together!

Sasha thinks it’s quite comfy, but she hasn’t figured out that she’s supposed to walk on the Kittywheel.

Sunset

Thunderheads were building up in the distance.

While Nora Owl and Willa were having a beak-to-beak in a corral, Walter flew in.

“Banzai!”

Nora Owl: “We don’t want to see your willy Walter! Cut it out.” Walter: “But Mama!”

Willa: “Mama! He’s still doing it.” Nora Owl: “WALTER! How many times do I have to tell you?”

Walter sneaked up on Nora Owl and Willa.

“SURPRIZE! Ahahahaha!

Nora Owl: “WALTER! YOU JERK! You kids are impossible. I’m out of here!” Willa: “NO! Mama! Don’t leave me with Walter!” Walter: “Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Take a good look, Willa!”
