Doggie in the Window

IMG_2184

A downtown dog standing in a window, taking in the beautiful scenery in the alley between the buildings on Gold and Central (Old Route 66) in Downtown Albuquerque. The apartment is in an old federal building at 5th and Gold that was structurally questionable, and abandoned by the feds several years ago. Apparently, the ground floor has been repurposed into apartments, which must be considered structurally sound enough for a dog to live in.

I Put Diesel In The RX-8

Since we had the newly acquired RX-8 in the shop for service, I took Tristan to the Heights to pick up Diesel, who she is dog sitting for a friend. I put Diesel, his crate, dishes, blankets and toys in my RX-8, which where a rather tight fit, and drove him to Tristan’s. Diesel is a very well behaved, black German Shepard, who enjoyed his rather cramped ride across town. He even gave me a wink over the thought of putting Diesel in the RX-8.

Dog Day

I went out to photograph an old wood mill in the north valley, and as I got to the top of a rail spur there was a dog gnawing on an old carcass. He was so involved at first that he didn’t notice me. After a few shots, he heard the shutter in my camera and looked up. He was standing his ground and then started coming sideways towards me half snarling and licking his chops. I didn’t push my luck by trying to cross the dog’s path to get down where I could get better shots of the buildings. I got a few shots of the mill from standing on the rail spur and then a shot toward the mountains as I walked back to the car. I presume the dog went back to gnawing the carcass.
