DSCF2890 — Spunk giving Najar a sissy paw challenge with his left paw.

Spunk and Najar had a little spat initiated by Spunk. However, Najar is standing up to Spunk these days and in many cases she is stalking and attacking him first. Spunk doesn’t quite know what to think of being stalked and attacked, since he has been the aggressor up until we introduced Najar into the mix.

DSCF2884 — But he was faking and surprises her with a right jab, after she took his sissy paw bait.

DSCF2885 — But Najar is quick and counters with a right hook.

DSCF2886 — Spunk comes back with a left, while Najar gives him a punching bag paddling.

DSCF2888 — Spunk tries to sneak in a kitty kiss with an attempted take down.

DSCF2889 — But Najar pushes him off and defends herself with an all claws alert.

DSCF2887 — She finely pulls out the mad dogs and Spunk, seeing she is serious, starts his exit.

Cattywampus

Roscrantz was laying between my legs about 3:30 am when Diné attacked him, and a cattywampus ensued as they fought, tumbled and wamped each other on my legs before Diné jumped off the bed with Rosencrantz in hot pursuit. A few minutes later Diné returned to triumphantly claim the spot between my legs where Rosencrantz had been before their cattywampus. Rosencrantz made his rounds, came back in, walked up on my chest and gave me a security report before he snuggled inbetween Laurie and me. I got up early, so Diné and Rosencrantz, still worn out from their early morning tussle, dragged themselves to my spot and continued to snooze. Guildenstern seemed a little mystified that I was getting up after all that ruckus in the wee hours of the morning. Meanwhile Mama Manx caught the first rays of the sunrise in the catio.

Cat Fight

After helping me change the sheets on the bed, Diné started challenging Rosencrantz by biting him on the legs. I ran and got my camera, and when I returned Rosencrantz was giving Diné “mad dogs”, and the fight was on. Diné is the one who picks fights with Rosencrantz and Guildenstern and she is always on top as the aggressor, because even though Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are both much larger and stronger than Diné, she is still top cat; therefore, they always maintain the defensive position when she attacks. Even though Rosencrantz brandishes his impressive set of claws in Diné’s face (those claws have earned him the nick name “Claws and Fangs”), Diné is not impressed and whoops on Rosnecrantz until she feels she’s defeated him. This is the full sequence of their sparring match from mad dogs to Rosencrantz’ attempt to get in one last swat before Diné jumped off the bed after her triumphant, tiger-like pounce.
