What a great series! That coyote seems to accept you as just another life form in the Bosque. Additionally, the last 2 images make clear (to me, at least) how animals may not be seen unless the Bosque visitor stays aware. I think of the snakes, badgers, etc you have shown us up close and personal…!
The coyote was following us. When we crossed the bridge to the levee, a couple was walking a couple of small dogs off leash. We warned them the coyote had been following us the ditch bank, and then the coyote walked across the clear ditch and came up on the levee with us. The couple picked up their little dogs and walked the other direction. Thanks, Susan.
True. We often see three coyotes together, but they go into curiosity mode when they see Jake. Did you see Jake’s Growlloween post? https://wp.me/p1yQyy-cRs
Missed that! So busy lately trying to get the homestead buttoned up for winter. Jake went full weredog!! Kitties are going to back off now for sure, ha
I find them such majestic animals. I just finished up (writing)a short story that takes place in downtown Portland, Oregon, and one of the scenes a coyote walks past the crowd.
It is such a common occurrence in Portland . And it is pretty spectacular.

These are amazing photographs, Timothy.
Thanks, Robbie.
I’ve had a love/hate relationship with coyotes my whole life, I remind myself that they are true survivors, respect.
Same here. But we’ve made peace with them. Thanks, Tiffany.
Very atmospheric photos Tim. Did you use a filter?
No filters were employed in the making of those photographs. Thanks, Brad.

Coyotes are masters at adapting to ever-changing environments. Kind of like mammalian cockroaches. But we love them. Thanks, K Mark.
Wile E. looks like he is enjoying a pleasant autumn day. Those are beautiful photos of him.
He was following us for a little while. Thanks, Lavinia.
