Terrific photos, Tim. The campus is beautiful and the photos of the planes are great, what a blue sky! I wonder if the University got a good deal on the land because of the flight pattern? I really like the photo of the stairs and the caption, “12 Steps + 18 more on the way to overcoming ignorance.” Happy Sunday to you, Laurie and the gang, have a beautiful day!
Hi Mia. I’m happy you noticed the 12 + 18 step program. The airport began hosting commercial flights 10 years before UNLV opened in 1957, so there might have been a good deal on the land. But a future with commercial jets taking off every 5 to 10 minutes was probably not part of the consideration in the 1950’s.
I did notice, thanks for the smile! That’s more than a lot of air traffic, I hope the locals are so used to the noise that they’re able to tune it out.
Buona domenica 🙂
Ciao, Simona. How’s your Sunday?
