Bummer Timothy! Do you have an Apple Storie near where you live. I was having trouble with my Mac a couple of years ago and so I took it in to the store and although I don’t remember what the problem was, they completely wiped it clean and put in a new operating system and it is still working splendidly. And I bought this thing in 2009 aso it’s nearly 10 years old. π
The Apple store won’t deal with it because it’s 2011. The problem is, it won’t start to the point that I or Apple techs can wipe in clean. It’s not a software problem.
I send you thoughts of good luck and a speedy recovery to your computer! I am also a mac user. I find technology problems incredibly frustrating. Most likely because I feel completely helpless.
I just got a new MBP, a few months ago. My new one was buggy, but one by one I’ve worked them out. I can live with the couple of oddities left until I get a new swath of time! ENJOY!

Hi Teri. Ordered a new one. It would take a new logic board and that plus labor is more than a newer used MacBook Pro.
