Hi Fraggle. They were all balloon pilots. Most, but not all, died in balloon accidents. Sid Cutter started what turned into the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta in 1972. Ben Abruzzo, Maxie Anderson, Larry Newman, and Ron Clark flew across the Atlantic in the Double Eagle Balloons. Carol Rymer Davis, Richard Abruzzo, Steve Fossett, and David Levin were all record holders for height, distance, etc. The others had participated in the balloon fiesta over the years.
I found balloons very interesting. A cousin brought his business to a city near mine and I have plans to fly… For what I could understand so far, this picture is a tribute, a beautiful and sad one.
I see from the comments the photo is a tribute to people who died in aballoon crash, so sad and a beautiful picture.

Hi Lari. It’s a tribute to pilots who had started and been involved with the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta over the past 40 years.
Got it… Well, it’s a very beautiful tribute.
Thanks, Lari!
