Hi Tim, great photos. I can’t say that I’ve ever seen a Bag-O-Caterpillars before, I think it’s fascinating. Jetti jax all lined up is a terrific shot. ~ Mia
I Duck Duck GOed “caterpillar bags” (I don’t use google) and got lots of interesting results. Some variation of tent caterpillars in my photo I imagine. Otherwise, the search gave me bags with caterpillars, bags with the CAT company logos, and bags with cats on them. They did not give me “cat bags” like Sasha is sitting in.
Love the humor! I did see some tent caterpillars, even one tree completely covered in the webbing of caterpillar bags. No “cat bags” though, that was a separate search.
John Wayne territory! Lovely series, love the rusty jetty’s and the tree.
Most certainly is. The high desert! Thanks, Fraggle.
First one looks like a boomerang to me and the jetty’s like modern art.
It certainly does have a boomerang look about it. Thanks, Teri!
Old rusty abandoned things always make interesting photos. I’m not familiar with jettis…what are they, and what’s their purpose?
Hi Cathy. Jettis were put in years and years ago for flood control. They were supposed to be energy dissipators.
Ah, I see. Thanks for the info, Tim.

Thanks, Mia! I haven’t seen bags of caterpillars like that do by us, so I not sure how common they are.
I’m not sure how common they are either, but when I Googled “caterpillar bags” it was something!
