In some of the letters my grandfather described battles he was in, but most of the descriptions were marked out by the censors. Too bad that was first person historical accounts from the trenches during WW I.
I also have letters from my grandfather and great uncle and while one can read between the lines to some extent, it is sad that we don’t have what the censors removed.
